Wanda Baker founded Council Oak Assessment to provide assessment and accreditation support services to colleges and universities.

Many  institutions find themselves in a frustrating loop of accreditation  monitoring over assessment and institutional effectiveness processes.   In the typical scenario, faculty and administrators have worked  

hard to collect data, enter data into templates, file templates into  binders, and organize binders on shelves ... only to receive a negative review.   

What do they do next?  Work even harder to gather more stuff to go into more templates, more binders, and more shelves ... only  to get another negative review!  

Using methods and materials I first developed in 2003 (and continue to refine), I work with administrators, assessment staff, and faculty to help them  implement a common sense approach to assessment that will provide information that is useful to faculty, and address the expectations of regional and specialized accreditation agencies.  

My  methods replace paper shuffling with a focus on student learning and using results to inform planning and budget decisions.
