Rather than focusing on student learning outcomes, this workshop focuses on performance objectives and measures of effectiveness, efficiency, and customer satisfaction for non-academic and administrative units.
Participants will use Assessment 101: Non-academic Assessment to develop an assessment plan for one non-academic or administrative unit, plan data collection and analysis, and anticipate ways to use results to improve effectiveness and drive budget and planning decisions. This 30-page book includes extensive information about continuous improvement, best practice, and other helpful resources. At each step, there is a clear focus on good practice, continuous improvement, and meeting accreditation expectations. Participants follow examples from a fictitious department to draft their own objectives, measures, etc., and then exchange feedback with the group. Feedback is then used to revise and improve all aspects of the assessment plan elements.
The workshop is designed to help new or experienced institutional effectiveness practitioners or non-academic staff to conduct their own non-academic assessment or to train colleagues at their institutions.
Fee: $4,000 plus reasonable travel costs from Tulsa (airfare, lodging, ground transportation).
One-day workshop for up to 50 participants. I provide all materials, including a copy of Assessment 101: Non-academic Assessment (which normally sells for $25) for each participant.
